Family Hike

Saturday, February 22, 2014

Today was such a beautiful day here in Prescott, so Joe and I decided to take our furry little children on a little hike. Which they both loved. We drove up to Thumb Butte and walked the easy trail almost all the way up. I tried the harder, steeper trail earlier this week, and a half an hour just about killed me, so this was much better. I enjoyed so much spending time out with my cute little family, getting some exercise and being surrounded by beautiful scenery. Things like this make my workout goals so fun and easy!

I also received my FitBit Force in the mail a couple days ago (yay!) and am starting to get the hang of the thing, it was kind of confusing at first! But I took it out on our hike today and plan on wearing it every day now to track everything since it's not that horrible looking. I'll do a little review on it soon too, in case anyone is interested in knowing more about them!

I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday and like me, were able to spend some time outside and with the people (or animals) you love!

My Monday Night

I'm a lucky lady to have these two in my life.
That is all :)

Shopping, Second Christmas, Cards and Cupcakes

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

I really had a lot of fun this last weekend. Joe has a fuller schedule at work now so we always want to have fun and do a lot over the weekends. On Saturday we started with bagels at our favorite local bagel place, seriously, we go there every weekend! Then we did a lot of shopping including vintage stores, getting a few things for the kitchen, and getting the first of our wedding craft supplies (which is exactly five months away, eeep!) We ended that day with dinner at The Raven and saw Catching Fire for the second time, if you haven't seen it yet go see it, now!

Sunday Joe and I went out to his parents' house to celebrate a very late Christmas with them, since they've been out of town a while. It was fun dressing Christmassy again and getting to have an extra little holiday. Plus they brought us back a bunch of goodies from Vermont. Then that night we had a couple friends over for tacos, cupcakes, and the season premier of GIRLS. It's one of my favorite shows right now and I'm so excited it's back! Does anyone else love that show? Then we played a round of Cards Against Humanity which is so hilarious every time.

So now it's Tuesday, which means back to our regular old weekly routine. But it always gets me through the week knowing how wonderful our weekends always are and how fun it is to just run around town with nothing to do!

Hope you had a fun weekend too and have a great week!

First Weekend

Sunday, January 5, 2014

It's the first weekend of 2014 and we celebrated by doing pretty much nothing. Which I really enjoyed. After all the holidays it's nice when things start to wind down and you can just go back to your regular routine (not being broke and the house back to normal, yay!)

On Friday our poor Nic had to get surgery. At first she was just supposed to get her teeth cleaned but the vet said they were pretty bad, so they'd have to put her under and possibly extract a tooth. Well, if that wasn't scary enough, I got a call that afternoon from the vet telling me Nic was out of surgery and she ended up having nine teeth extracted, NINE! I didn't even know she had that many teeth! I felt so bad for the little girl! They told me bad teeth were just part of her breed and it's really important to keep up on them or it could lead to heart problems. And that will not happen for my baby girl! Even though it was a little scary, it was all worth it, and she'll be back to normal and able to eat her regular food again in just a week. So nine teeth and $500 later, Nic is healthy and happy, which is all that matters!

Saturday we ran a couple errands which included getting my beautiful new print framed. I currently have it hanging in the office and it looks amazing! Such a great Christmas gift! After that we went to see The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, it was fantastic! I really loved it, and I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.

Then today we started our day with bagels for breakfast, which is becoming like a Sunday morning tradition for us. I love it! Then Joe took a couple photos for me in my new camera dress (which I will post tomorrow) and we did our usual comic book shopping and smoothies. So it was a lovely, calm day, my favorite kind! Later we will head to the gym, come home and have dinner, and prepare for the week.

I hope you all had a wonderful first weekend of the year!

Catching Fire, Pregiving, and Nic's Birthday

Monday, November 25, 2013

I really love weekends like this last one when there's a lot of fun stuff going on.

On Friday, after Joe got off work, he came home and took me out for dinner and a movie. Such a sweet, classic date! After dinner we saw Catching Fire and it was seriously AMAZING. Definitely lived up to The Hunger Games, and definitely left me wanting more. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you do!

Then Saturday Joe, my sister Emma, and I went to get pizza with my dad. It was good because I don't usually spend that much time with him. After that we went home to make homemade mac 'n cheese for Pregiving. It's like a "friendsgiving" that a friend of ours hosts every year, and a ton of people come and bring food. It was a lot of fun and great to see so many people get together.

Sunday was Nic's seventh birthday! There isn't much you can do for a dog on their birthday, so we just made waffles, watched movies and enjoyed the rainy day in. I'm pretty sure she enjoyed it as much as we did ;)

Weekends like this are my favorite! So much fun and so relaxing! Although they do seem to make Mondays a little harder!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, too! And have a merry Monday!

InstaLife: Nic Edition

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

My little girl Nic is turning SEVEN YEARS OLD this month! I can hardly believe it! I've had her since she was only a few months old, and she has been there with me through everything. She was my very first love and my best little non-human friend. She always is able to brighten up my day and I truly couldn't imagine life without her.
Happy Birthday my Darling, mama loves you so much!
