Girls Holiday Dresses

Monday, November 14, 2016

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks dressing a little girl is way more fun than dressing yourself. I become so obsessed with finding the sweetest little outfits for Violet to wear, and have so much fun choosing what she wears before she forms her own opinion! Here are a few adorable little dresses that could work for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any holiday parties. I've already bought the swan one for Vi to wear on Thanksgiving!

Halloween 2016

Monday, October 31, 2016

I think it's safe to say that Violet had the best first Halloween ever. We weren't sure how she'd like wearing a costume and wandering around in the chilly weather in a big crowd of people, but judging by the huge smile on her face the whole time, she absolutely loved it. We decided to go trick-or-treating in a neighborhood in town that always gets super into Halloween. All of the houses are decorated spooky and tons of kids come to collect candy. Even though Vi isn't only enough to eat candy (or even know what it is!) she held on to her pumpkin bucket so tight the whole time and got so excited whenever someone dropped a piece of candy in. We arrived downtown at about 4 and stayed until about 5:30. It was perfect timing since it was mostly other little kids out and the huge crowd of older kids started to arrive right as we were leaving. I had an absolute blast watching her enjoy herself so much, and it makes me so excited for all of the Halloweens to come!

Here we are trick-or-treating as a baby giraffe and zookeepers (or maybe we were safari guides, that's what a lot of people thought, haha!) I hope you had an amazing Halloween as well!

Christmas 2015

Saturday, December 26, 2015

This Christmas, AKA Violet's First Christmas, was definitely a good one! On Christmas Eve, we drove about two and a half hours to my sister's house for a party, which was Violet's first time in the car for more than about 15 minutes. She did so well! She looked out the window for about ten minutes then slept the whole rest of the way! It was so nice to have that time to just talk with Joe and sing to Christmas music. We spent that day hanging out with family and having a really nice Christmas Eve. Then, Violet slept the whole way back home! Such a nice surprise since I was slightly nervous for the trip!

On Christmas Morning, Joe's parents came to our house and we made a yummy breakfast together and opened presents. It was really nice and relaxing. We kept laughing about how Violet got the most presents out of everyone and she didn't even care! It will be so much fun next year when she cares a little bit and can rip open gifts.

Then later that night, we went to my other sister's house (in town) for dinner. More food and family and presents, so much fun! Christmas is seriously the best, and sharing it with a baby this time made it that much more special!

Ringing in the New Year

Thursday, January 1, 2015

The way Joe and I prefer to celebrate New Years, and how we do every year, is a bit on the quiet side; no loud, crowded places, but rather a couple friends over for games and pizza. And it was a really great night full of laughs and champagne (hence the kind of blurry photos;) ) and I'm really glad we're able to make a low-key night at home with a couple good friends so much fun!

I hope you all celebrated the new year in your favorite way and had a ton of fun!

Christmas 2014

Friday, December 26, 2014

Joe and I had the most amazing first Christmas as a married couple. It's one I will remember forever. Such a lovely day spent laughing with family, eating delicious food, and being super lovey-dovey!

Christmas 2014 was definitely one for the books!

I hope those of you who celebrate had a completely wonderful Christmas, and the rest of you had a nice Thursday!

Happiest Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 27, 2014

Joe and I just got home from a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration at my sister's house. We are so tired from a day full of laughs, family and delicious food. I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving as well, we all have so much to be thankful for!

xoxo!

Our Happy Fourth

Saturday, July 5, 2014

Yesterday was a really wonderful first-holiday-as-husband-and-wife. Like every other holiday, we dressed very festive and spent the day with family. I even made my very first homemade apple pie (it was okay.. haha) and we went to Sonic to have hot dogs before a BBQ at my sister's house. It was really nice hanging out with the whole family and enjoying the pre-monsoon weather. Then, Emma came to our house after with us to play with sparklers, which was actually a ton of fun!

I really like days like yesterday, because they're a nice reminder that even the simplest days with family, good food, and watching your grandparents take their very first jello shot (hehe) can be the most fun. I really hope your Fourth of July was a good one, too!
