This is Halloween...

Thursday, October 31, 2013

I'm not going to lie, I've been slacking. This is the second Halloween in a row Joe and I wore last minute thrown-together costumes and not made any real plans. Which is strange for me because I absolutely love this holiday! We always just go hang out with my family, which is fun, but we always say we want to go to an actual Halloween party, but never do. Maybe next year!

We still had a good day though! Dressed as Wednesday and Pugsly Addams (with clothes we already owned) and trick-or-treated with my little niece and nephew. Watching them get sugar high is usually pretty entertaining!

What do you do for Halloween? What did you dress as? Any way I hope you had a fun day, and ate lots of candy!

Saving the Date!

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Yesterday was very exciting for Joe and I because we finished addressing our save the date cards and mailed them out. I know a lot of people don't get this excited just over save the dates, and some people don't even send them at all, but because our wedding planning will have stretched out over a year, each little step like this feels huge.

My sister, who is getting married next month, only planned her wedding in about five months. So I'm sure it feels different for her because she had to start doing everything right away. For me, I have to force myself to be patient and not try to rush things. It even seems a little early to send these out, but because most of our guests are out of state, some even out of the country, it seemed like a good idea to give an early heads up.

I'm checking things off one by one in my big pink wedding planning book and get so excited to see each thing that happens next. Dress shopping, parties, registering, sending out actual invites! I am so  psyched for all of it! For now, its just a waiting, and being patient, game!

Saturday Love

Sunday, October 27, 2013

If I haven't said it a million times before, I LOVE October in this town! There are few things better than a Saturday in October spent doing random fun things. We started the day with breakfast at our favorite place (grilled cheese, yum!) and then met up with a couple friends to browse antique shops. I honestly have never really been into antiques besides old cameras and Matryoshka Dolls, but it's always fun to look. There are so many in this town and you just get lost in them, literally!

Then later that night we had a few friends over for a going away party. Two of our friends are moving to New Zealand in a couple weeks! And somehow we ended up celebrating by shoving a cake in one of their faces, see the video below...
Other than that mess it was a really fun night playing Quelf and eating pizza.

I hope you all had a fun Saturday as well, and have a wonderful week!

Novels and Coffee

Friday, October 18, 2013

I'm really excited to show off this new dress from Lala Magic! It's such a perfect fall dress for spending a day down town and getting coffee. Today we decided to hit the library and grab some books. I always get so overwhelmed with all the choices there! But we picked out a few and read and drank coffee in the perfect 65 degree fall weather. I'm really loving these fall days and the chance to pull out longer sleeved dresses and tights!
