Nice To Meet You!

Thursday, August 8, 2013

Since I'm new to blogging and don't have many readers yet, I was thinking it could be fun to write a bit about myself, and maybe you could write a comment with your name, a bit about yourself, and your blog URL. I would really love to get to know you all! Here are ten random things about myself:

1. I was born in the same town I'm still living in. Although I'm very comfortable here, I plan on moving to California once Joe and I are married. I feel like I need to get out and see a bit more than just this town.

2. I absolutely love country music. Old, new, I love it all. I usually prefer to listen to it when I'm alone driving or cleaning the house because Joe hates it, but he's usually nice and doesn't complain too much if it's on around him :)

3. I have changed so much just since high school. I remember so many things I thought and believed in back then, and now I'm so different. I didn't ever want to get married, I hated the idea of tattoos, I was blonde, I was pretty religious, and only ever wore tee shirts and converse. Now, just out of high school three years I'm a completely different person. I think being around different people and not letting others' influence me so much, I've really come into my own and discovered who I really am. I feel more confident about myself now too.

4. I love writing. I have quite a bit of things I've written but am way to insecure to ever show anyone. It even took a lot for me to write in this space and be public. I'm getting better though!

5. I really want a pen pal but have no idea how to find one!

6. I'm extremely organized. I always need things to be set up a perfect way and know where everything is at all times. I can't stand clutter. Joe always calls me Monica (from Friends) because of that.

7. My dog Nicole is named after Nicole Richie. Embarrassing, I know. But I got her when I was thirteen and was obsessed with The Simple Life. My sister even named her dog Paris. By the time I realized how ridiculous it was, it was too late to change it. So now I usually just call her Nic.

8. I'm actually a pretty shy person. I always have been. But since getting older I've gotten better about it and am a bit more outgoing and confident. People still consider me pretty quiet at first, but after I really get comfortable around someone it all goes away.

9. I love taking photos. I am constantly snapping photos on my iPhone, and I usually am carrying around my DSLR, a film camera, an instant camera, and a video camera. Just in case ;) I get overwhelmed at time on keeping them all organized.

10. I wear dresses as often as possible. I pretty much only feel comfortable in dresses. I will wear jeans if it's cold out, but one of the reasons I love Spring and Summer so much is my freedom to be able to throw on a dress every day and not have to worry about being cold.

So what about you? Tell me a bit about yourself! I look forward to hearing from you!

  1. I found your blog through Danielle's Weekend Links post, and I've gotta say, it's quickly become one of my favorites :) You have the cutest style and I love reading about your impending wedding and your adorable relationship with Joe. Where in California do you plan to move to? I live in northern California, about twenty minutes northeast of Sacramento!
I don't have a blog of my own to link you to; there is nothing blog-worthy about my life, haha. Right now, I'm just working my way through community college so I can eventually transfer to nursing school.
Have a great day and I look forward to more of your posts! :)

  3. I think you are adorable! I found your blog through Danielle (she was also my English teacher in HS), but I also knew your sister, Melise, back in middle school. Figures we would have people in common coming from the same small town. And on a hopefully-not-too-awkward-or-creepy-note, I would absolutely love to be pen pals with you, if you are interested. I have always loved snail mail and written letters. There is something so fun and exciting about getting an envelope with your name on it that isn't junk mail. I had my first pen pal in 4th grade, and I've had many since then. Again, don't want to make you feel totally weird. Just thought I'd offer ☺. Anyway, I loved this post and getting to know you a little bit more.

  6. I love this! I always love when bloggers write facts about themselves because I'm like ME TOO! Haha I love country music, too! And my husband hates it. It's kind of growing on him though because I play it all the time. I like to keep a list titled "the things Evan likes because Larissa makes him." Also included are tomatoes, chocolate ice cream with caramel and almonds and country music of course. ;] haha I just love your blog and I'm so glad you're here! =] [lalaalovely.blogspot.com]

  8. My name is Corey, I found you through Danielle at Sometimes Sweet... I am just getting into country, I've always had a spot for it but never sought it out until now. I have been taking myself to country bars lately, learning some line dances and I'm having so much fun with it. I am looking to get some cowboy boots here in the next week or so.
I too love instagram and have to carry a big purse because I have to have at least one book with me, a journal, a camera of some sort (either DSLR, polaroid or some toy 35mm) and who knows what else. May as well call me mary poppins most of the time.
I am the opposite on dresses. I wear jeans constantly, I am so comfortable in a good pair of stretchy skinny jeans and I don't know what to do with myself in dresses.

Your blog is lovely, welcome to the space!

    1. Yeah, it's funny, I'm in no way a "country girl" except for loving the music! It is really fun to dance to!
I used to be the same way about jeans actually, but I really can't find the perfect fitting pair anywhere! So maybe once I do I'll be more comfortable in them.
Well thanks for reading! And please comment any time:)

  11. Girlfriend, you and I have a LOT in common! I live in southern Cali, I'm a country music fan, I was super quiet in high school (graduated 12 years ago) and have changed quite a bit since then...haven't stopped, really. Let me tell you, with age and life experience comes confidence for those of us who've taken longer to come out of our shells. Photography is my passion and I've just announced my photography business and official website to turn it into a career. I'd wear dresses all the time, too, if the dozens I have actually fit me! I'm finally working on shedding the pounds I gained from having a baby (she is now 15 months old). Years ago, I had a big girl crush on Nicole Richie! I even painted a picture of her for an art class assignment in college and it still hangs in my parent's house. I have 2 dogs, big enough to enjoy your little Nic and Paris for lunch (sorry) and we have 20 chickens and a rooster. We grow plenty of veggies in our backyard garden and I love to bake and cook. Oh, and I'm VERY jealous of your very visible tattoo/s. I wish I had the ba//s to have one or some for show, but my current teaching job (that I'm trying to bow out of) won't let me. And, I just don't think I'm cool enough for em. So there, nice to meet ya! -Misty

  12. Hello Cam,
I'm new to blogging, but I follow you on instagram and I saw you were one of the few people that have a blog and so I just read through your about me and we have some things in common. I'm from Arizona too, still here. We're in the Chandler Area near Chandler mall, and we hope to move to the west coast later on but not anytime soon.
I too am shy at first but after I start to get to know people I start to open up more. I don't know, Ive always been like that but I try not to but it just comes naturally, I guess its just the fact that everyone is not who they appear to be and I guess I just like to wait it out and see if it changes.
I feel the same about dresses. I rather wear them then anything else!

I know I'm super late to this post but I always read the about me's and the welcome pages. But I'm gonna continue to follow your blog and you are welcome to follow mine. It don't have much now, but I plan on posting more,
thank you for reading my comment and I look forward to your post. And I'm hoping you post more about your pregnancy -Jessa
